Looking For Maine Campgrounds? Consider Southern Maine, A Perfect Camping Destination!

The southernmost regions of Maine encompass some of the oldest and most historic areas of the entire state. This coastal region has a long history in shipping and seafaring that continues to this day, firmly woven into its thriving modern-day tourism business. For visitors, this area is a delight to browse, lined with quaint streets, idyllic seaside settings with shops, restaurants and rocky shoreline.

Kittery is Maine’s oldest town, with a history of shipbuilding going back hundreds of years. Kittery enjoys not only a beautiful seacoast but some of the oldest and most historic architecture in the state. Visit this quaint town when you stay at one of our nearby RV camp sites or cabins in Southern Maine. One of the most popular attractions in the area is the famous Kittery Outlets, a traditional retail stop for vacationers. From our Maine campgrounds you can stroll the streets of Ogunquit, a tiny village known for its beautiful beach and rocky coastline. This is an eclectic and captivating artist’s haven, with many galleries, shops and restaurants of all types. It is also home to the beautiful Perkins Cove and the great family-friendly Moody Beach area.

Wells has scenic ocean views and antique shops, kid-friendly activities and free concerts at the Harbor Park. Its beaches include Wells Beach, Drake’s Island Beach, and the Laudholm Beach in the Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge. York’s historic heritage includes the beautiful Nubble Lighthouse, historic buildings and spectacular ocean views. The partially restored York Cliff Walk is an up-close view of the rugged, rocky beach overlooking York Harbor and Stage Neck. Kennebunkport includes the areas of Cape Porpoise, Goose Rocks Beach, and the Goat Island Lighthouse. This is also the location of Walker’s Point, the oceanfront home of former President Bush and his wife, Barbara. Stay at Flagg’s RV Resort, a Maine campground in York Beach and you will only be 36 minutes from the many Kennebunkport attractions.

For visitors who are staying at one of Morgan RV Resorts' Southern Maine campgrounds with no set agenda, a simple drive through the area provides a wealth of lovely views, great restaurants for Maine lobster, and attractions for every member of the family!
